Height App
It was a typical Saturday morning for 21-year-old college student Alex. He had just woken up and was scrolling through his phone, checking his messages and social media. As he swiped through his apps, he noticed one that he didn't recognise. It was called "Height Alter," and it had a simple icon of a person standing next to a ruler.
Curious, Alex tapped on the app and was immediately greeted with a screen that asked him to input his current height. He typed in his usual 5'11" and then saw a slider that allowed him to alter his height. Intrigued, he started to play around with the slider, moving it up and down. As he did so, he could feel his body changing. When he increased his height to 6'5", he felt a sudden surge of growth, and his clothes became tight as his body expanded. When he decreased his height to 5'4", he felt a strange shrinking sensation, and his clothes became loose as his body contracted.
Alex couldn't believe it - this app was actually changing his height! He was having so much fun playing with it that he didn't even hear his girlfriend, Sarah, come into the room.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Sarah asked, walking up to him.
Alex turned to her, grinning from ear to ear. "Check this out!" he exclaimed, holding up his phone. "I found this app that can alter my height!"
Sarah raised an eyebrow. "That's...interesting," she said, clearly not convinced. "But can you stop playing with it now? I have to get ready for my shift at work."
Alex nodded and put his phone down, but as Sarah walked out of the room, he couldn't resist the temptation to play with the app a little more. He quickly picked up his phone and started sliding the height slider again.
This time, however, things didn't go as planned. As he tried to increase his height, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his head and his vision started to fade. He stumbled and fell to the ground, barely able to keep conscious. When he came to, he was horrified to find that he had shrunk down to just one foot in height.
Sarah rushed into the room when she heard the commotion and gasped when she saw Alex. "What happened?" she asked, bending down to help him up.
Alex looked up at her, his eyes filled with fear. "I don't know," he said, shaking his head. "I was just playing with the app, and then I suddenly felt really dizzy and then I just...shrunk."
Sarah helped him to his feet and hugged him tightly. "We have to get you to a doctor," she said, her voice filled with concern. "This app could be dangerous."
As they headed out the door, Alex couldn't help but feel a sense of regret. He had been so obsessed with playing with the app that he hadn't stopped to think about the consequences. He vowed to never mess with the unknown again and to be more careful in the future.
