The story
Alex Collins is thirty, confident, powerfully built and certain of his place at Titan Freight. Then, after a birthday celebration he cannot fully remember, something begins to change.
Each morning leaves him smaller, more vulnerable and increasingly dependent on the one man who seems to understand exactly what is happening: his imposing manager, Gavin Shaw.
As Alex's body diminishes, the workplace hierarchy becomes brutally physical. Private fascination turns into public humiliation, control becomes ownership, and the man who once commanded the room is gradually transformed into its most closely guarded secret.
Gavin's eyes raked him, dark and appraising, a slow grin splitting his face around the cigar. "Christ, look at you. Five-five? That's proper pint-sized now, innit? Come here - confess it proper."
Alex shuffled forward, knees weak, dropping to all fours as Gavin's boot nudged his thigh.
… Gavin barked a laugh, deep and mocking, exhaling a plume that washed over Alex's face, stinging his eyes and flooding his lungs with that heady burn. "Three inches? Bloody hell, you're turning into my pocket pet. Pathetic. But useful."
