Gay fantasy and sci-fi size stories: worlds built to scale

A spell goes wrong and a warrior becomes a giant. A starship crew wakes from stasis with their sizes reversed. A hidden forest carnival opens, where shoes make you tower or shrink and collars decide who's master. These gay fantasy size stories give shrinking and growth a whole world to play in, with magic, machines and rules that make perfect sense, right up until they don't.

Expect illustrated Shrink Files, Shrinkwave stories and comics, audio, Land of Size games and Shrink Packs, from Thor to the Fantasy Festival.

Pick your world

Fantasy and sci-fi give size play something it badly wants: a reason. A spell, a potion, a portal or a piece of alien technology, and suddenly a man being six inches tall isn't a problem to solve but a world to live in. The worlds here fall into a few rough camps.

The tone shifts with the world. Tiny Soldier, Big Love is a love story set in an alternate Second World War, with a three-inch private and his giant protector. Fantasy Festival III puts Jesse Maddox through shrinking, ballooning into a muscle god, being devoured and being claimed, all in one scorching night. Some heroes shrink, some grow, and some get both.

Comics and games widen the map. Shrinkwave follows Barry Johnson, a gay superhero with size-shifting powers, into an alternate dimension where everything and everyone is ten times bigger. The 3D games let you wash ashore on Gulliver's Island among men six inches tall, or step into a fairy ring in the long grass and shrink smaller than a beetle while the groundsman works all around you.

Neighbouring worlds

Most fantasy stories are, underneath, giants and shrinking stories with better scenery. Potions and portals also feed muscle growth and transformation, and once the moon is full, fantasy turns to horror.

Questions

What are fantasy size stories?
They're size-fetish stories set in worlds built around the change: magic, myth, science fiction, virtual reality or a festival that appears only once a year. The setting explains why a man shrinks or grows, and gives the story rules, stakes and scenery. Underneath, they're the same G/T and size difference fantasies, given a world big enough to hold them.
Is there sci-fi as well as fantasy?
Plenty. Starship crews wake from stasis with their sizes reversed, a distress signal leads to alien technology that makes bodies grow, a scientist steps into a micro-world, and simulation chambers let men play out fetishes that are impossible in the real world. If you prefer lasers to spells, start with Shrink Files Issue 7: Shrunk in Space or Issue 38: A Size Odyssey.
What is the Fantasy Festival?
The Fantasy Festival is a recurring Shrink Files setting: a hidden forest carnival where gay men gather to explore every inch of their size desires, where shoes can make you tower or shrink and collars decide who's master. It runs across several stories, an audio version and a Shrink Files 3D game in which the Ringmaster shrinks you on stage.
Are the characters adults?
Yes. Warriors, mages, gods, starship crews and festival-goers alike, every character on ShrinkingMen is an adult man over 18. The worlds are invented, the magic is invented, and so is everything that happens in them: it's all fiction, written for grown men.
